Secret Love
Mediaworld icon

We are pleased and proud to announce that the stage adaptation of the Kathy Kirby story is now touring UK theatres from Spring 2008.
The show "Secret Love" is produced by Mediaworld.See www.secretlove.info

Star of the show will be Suzi Jari, an accomplished performer who has already played the young Dusty Springfield on the London stage and who performs tributes to Connie Francis and Brenda Lee.

Kirby was the star who filled theatres with her unique voice, trademark lip gloss and bubbling personality. Her television shows drew millions and she was hailed as “the golden girl of pop” and “Britain’s Marilyn Monroe”, with millions in the bank and a lavish lifestyle to match.
Today, a quarter of a century after she took a final curtain and hid from the world, Kathy Kirby still attracts the fascination, curiosity and admiration of a legion of fans old and new.
The truth of what really happened, both at the height of her fame, when she was the highest paid girl star in the UK, and up to the present day, will amaze you. The story of what really happened to Kathy Kirby, known to so few, can now be told.
She sang for her Queen and country. She was used and abused and held under a Svengali like spell by the man who discovered her. She went from the stage of the London Palladium to sleeping in a shop doorway.
She was a celebrity when the word was synonymous with talent and style. She lived the high life and plumbed the depths of despair, but unlike many she survived.
This highly emotional drama of the private and public life of a woman who went from the spotlight of fame to becoming a reclusive enigma is a unique production. Not a tribute show, but the very real, and uniquely staged, story of a star who has survived against all the odds.
Uniquely told by Mediaworld, the only producers who have seen behind the Secrets, Loves and Lip Gloss. Hear the story and the music of a legend, and then hear the truth in this dramatic production.

The Unquiet Grave and death threats
Mediaworld icon

Last year we reported this exclusive story, now there are claims of "death threats" upon those concerned, which were reported to the police as long ago as April this year.

We reported this:- The truth about the fate of the Hull trawler Gaul may have been exclusively revealed to Mediaworld in January this year. Only now are we happy to put forward the claims of a UK Naval architect who claims to have been threatened and intimidated because of his independent research.

His amazing claim, if proven, could also open up the opportunity for the families of the crew to begin a massive compensation claim, for the man, Mr Ron Drysdale, says the ship sailed with a patently obvious design fault which led to her loss in February 1974.

French trawler mystery has echoes of the Gaul
Mediaworld icon

The mystery surrounding the sinking of a French trawler has great similarities to the story we exclusively revealed about the Gaul towards the end of the government enquiry.

We brought forward a man who said he had overheard a conversation between people who said a submarine had been involved in the sinking of the Gaul, a Hull trawler with 36 crew on board, over 34 years ago. See our section on the Gaul HERE

We reproduce an article from The Sunday Telegraph of today (February 11th 2007).

Is this the truth about the Gaul at last?

A world exclusive from Mediaworld
Mediaworld icon

A world exclusive interview with sixties singer Kathy Kirby is featured in The Sunday Express of April 30th 2006, and Mediaworld is delighted to have obtained it for them.
Our subsidiary Best Books published the acclaimed biography of Kathy, 'Secrets, Loves and Lip Gloss', and the book too is to be serialised in The Express.
Kathy's is a wonderful, and poignant story, which we have put back where it belongs, firmly in the public eye.
Thank you to Kathy for her wonderful co-operation. We will have more news of developments of our involvement with the Kirby legend soon.

A step nearer the truth?
Mediaworld icon

On the eve of the anniversary of the loss of the Gaul 32 years ago Mediaworld has again been contacted with an exclusive allegation straight from a high ranking member of a European organisation.
This astonishing approach was made direct to us, reminiscent of our exclusive revelations of a former Royal Navy officer during the Gaul inquiry. .
At the moment we are not revealing the source, but the allegation is quite simple and, if true, would have deep implications for the families of the 36 crew, only four of whom have been accounted for.
It is this. There was a design fault to the duff and offal chute doors, which were open when the ship sank, contributing to the flooding which is supposed to have sunk the Gaul. The fact that they were open was said by the inquiry Judge, Mr Justice David Steel, to be due to crew negligence and bad maintenance.
Mediaworld is continuing its investigations. Who might approach us next we wonder? After all these years the mystery of the Gaul has certainly not gone away.

Another trawler lost

This has some interesting similarities with evidence which Mediaworld gave to the Gaul inquiry and which was dismissed almost out of hand.
