Secret Love

We are pleased and proud to announce that the stage adaptation of the Kathy Kirby story is now touring UK theatres from Spring 2008.
The show "Secret Love" is produced by Mediaworld.See www.secretlove.info

Star of the show will be Suzi Jari, an accomplished performer who has already played the young Dusty Springfield on the London stage and who performs tributes to Connie Francis and Brenda Lee.

Kirby was the star who filled theatres with her unique voice, trademark lip gloss and bubbling personality. Her television shows drew millions and she was hailed as “the golden girl of pop” and “Britain’s Marilyn Monroe”, with millions in the bank and a lavish lifestyle to match.
Today, a quarter of a century after she took a final curtain and hid from the world, Kathy Kirby still attracts the fascination, curiosity and admiration of a legion of fans old and new.
The truth of what really happened, both at the height of her fame, when she was the highest paid girl star in the UK, and up to the present day, will amaze you. The story of what really happened to Kathy Kirby, known to so few, can now be told.
She sang for her Queen and country. She was used and abused and held under a Svengali like spell by the man who discovered her. She went from the stage of the London Palladium to sleeping in a shop doorway.
She was a celebrity when the word was synonymous with talent and style. She lived the high life and plumbed the depths of despair, but unlike many she survived.
This highly emotional drama of the private and public life of a woman who went from the spotlight of fame to becoming a reclusive enigma is a unique production. Not a tribute show, but the very real, and uniquely staged, story of a star who has survived against all the odds.
Uniquely told by Mediaworld, the only producers who have seen behind the Secrets, Loves and Lip Gloss. Hear the story and the music of a legend, and then hear the truth in this dramatic production.

The author of the Kirby biography, Secrets, Loves and Lip Gloss, James Harman, a fan who became her last manager, is attempting to damage the production of the stage show "Secret Love"

The book was published by Mediaworld and resulted in cash payouts for the star and Harman, whose bitterness stems from his stage script being rejected.
